What is
a birthday party without cake?
Decorated birthday cakes are a time honored tradition like apple pie
and baseball. Many people are intimidated by the thought of
making a decorated birthday cake, but they can be easy and fun to
make with the help of our cake pans, cake toppers, and candles.
So take a look around our cake shop and then have a blast creating
your child's next birthday cake!
Family
Activity
Involving your child in the cake baking and decorating process can
be a great family activity as long as you set up some guidelines
before you get started. Depending on your child's age level
they can help from start to finish or just the finish.
Designate a day and time you will make the birthday cake and inform
all family members who want to help. Tell your child/children ahead
of time what they're jobs will be in helping with the birthday cake.
Gather ingredients, cooking utensils, pans, etc. and lay them out in
the order they will be needed. Allow your child/children to use
sticky notes to label items that will be their specific jobs in
making the birthday cake. Have a game or other activity
ready to go during the baking and cooling process of the birthday
cake so everyone stays happy and doesn't become bored.
Above all remember safety: keep younger
children away from the stove during the baking process, handling hot
pans, mixers, etc. Also remember a
birthday cake doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be fun!
